Technology
We are fortunate to be able to provide the most up to date technology for our patient treatment. These technologies benefit the patient by offering improved diagnosis and care.
We take pride in the fact that our doctors use a surgical microscope for all endodontic procedures. The use of specialized operating microscopes greatly enhances the precision and efficiency of each endodontic procedure by enabling a magnified and illuminated view of the delicate root canal anatomy during all phases of treatment. The additional magnification and illumination also allows for the identification of small details such as calcified canals and fractures within the roots. Use of the surgical microscope allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment and improves the potential outcome of the treatment from “good” to “excellent”. Our surgical microscopes are equipped with high resolution video and digital photography systems allowing for enhanced communication and documentation for patients and their referring dentists.
3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography technology provides a digital tomographic 3D view of a patient’s area of interest. A traditional x-ray is only two-dimensional. With CBCT technology a full 360 degree view of the tooth and all surrounding areas allows us to identify and treat pathology and anatomy not detectable with traditional x-rays resulting in more thorough and precise treatment. CBCT technology provides nearly limitless views of the teeth while using less radiation than traditional medical CT technology. We are proud that we were the first endodontic office in the area to offer CBCT technology on-site. This new technology is efficient and convenient and provides unprecedented benefits that were unavailable only a few years ago.
